Analysis and development of augmented reality and computer vision algorithms for automotive applications

Abstract

Development of sensor fusion and computer vision algorithms, mainly aimed at enabling augmented reality applications on video and head-mounted displays inside a moving vehicle. These include the use of images from mono and stereo-cameras, signals from IMUs (Inertial Measurement Units), TOF (Time-Of-Flight) sensors, and GPS receivers. Part of the activity is also aimed at a generalization of the results, enabling the use of such computer vision algorithms in a variety of other applications in the automotive field (e.g., perception and localization in racing and agricultural contexts).
