Major research topic

Advanced and Robust Perception Methodologies for Autonomous Vehicles.

Abstract

This research project focuses on understanding the performance limits of perception algorithms for autonomous vehicles and the impact of operational design domains on their effectiveness. By analyzing perception systems across varied environments, from high-speed racing to off-road scenarios, we aim to identify key constraints and optimize algorithmic design. In addition, we are developing state-of-the-art solutions to common perception problems such as obstacle detection, target tracking, and robotic localization. The goal is to enhance the reliability and safety of autonomous systems while gaining deeper insights into how operational conditions affect algorithm performance.
